Applications for the 2025 fellowship program are now open! Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a New Zealand citizen.
The Fellowship program is designed to give the next generation of professional musicians the best springboard to a career in music.
The 2025 Fellowship program includes:
- A stipend which covers performance calls across mainstage and chamber music performances.
- Participation in chamber music performances and mainstage performances at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.
- A program of professional training and performance activities including mentoring by members of the Sydney Symphony and masterclasses with our globally renowned guest artists and soloists.
- Professional development in the areas of audition, rehearsal and performance preparation, stagecraft, career management as well as providing informed approaches to long-term health and wellbeing.
Eligibility and Requirements:
The Fellowship program is a year-long commitment and successful candidates will need to be resident in Sydney during their fellowship year.
If you are intending to study, you may need to defer your studies should you audition successfully.
Applications are taken from the following instruments: Flute + Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Tenor Trombone, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass.
You must have finished high school and be no older than 29 years by 31 December 2024 and must have extensive orchestral performance experience.
